1943 Notice of Classification Card

1943 Notice of Classification Card

Price: $10.50 / £5.46

1943 Notice of Classification Card

Selective Service Card (Draft Card) issued in July of 1943 and later by local draft boards to all men of draft age within their jurisdiction. It was required by law for all civilian mento keep this card on them. Once drafted, one was required to turn it over to one's commanding officer. The card has spaces for full name, order number, classification, and date of issue. You can either clip out the card, or simply fold it in half (about 2/3 of the cards I have in my collection are folded, rather than clipped out).

This package for the 1943 draft card is for a completely filled out and stamped card to your specifications. Email your full name and what classification status you would like (1A to 4F) and preference for dates, and we will not only fill it out for you with my typewriter, but also postage cancel it and stamp it with a custom stamp for a draft board in the city of your choice! Email us for a complete list of cities and cancellations.

V-Mail Package

V-Mail Package

Price: $14.50 / £7.54

V-Mail Package

V-Mail was an ingenious invention. Soldiers could stay in touch with their loved ones by writing on specially provided forms, which were photographed onto microfilm, transported overseas in small, inexpensive transport parcels, then enlarged onto photographic paper and mailed to their destinations. Have you ever wanted a V-Mail that looked like it was mailed from home? How about having a V-Mail sent to a friend or spouse as a gift? With this package, send us a letter of your own in an e-mail; we will convert it using a simulated handwritten font and paste it into our V-Mail template, distress it to give it a photographed look, and print it onto a quality matte finish photographic paper. Or you can send an illustration; we will distress it to make it look like it was photographed, and include it along with any brief message you want. Includes censor stamps (Army or Navy - please indicate). A real work of art and at this price, quite the bargain! Sorry, no War Dept. envelopes yet.

US Ration Book One

US Ration Book One

Price: $5.50 / £2.86

US Ration Book One

Complete with all of the perforated ration stamps (originals rarely have more than four or five stamps left), Ration Book One is mailed folded. We will apply a unique number to each book you order (in case you are ordering for the whole family). All you need to do is fill it out in your own handwriting, just like the original (please use a fountain pen or fine rollerball, not a ballpoint). Issued in early 1942, Ration Book One turned out to be woefully inadequate and was superceded by Ration Book Two, issued later that year.

US Ration Book Two

US Ration Book Two

Price: $12.50 / £6.50

US Ration Book Two

Ration Book Two was the first real ration "book" in the United States during World War II. There were two sets of stamps on four pages, A through Z in both blue (for meats) and red (for processed foods), valued from 1 to 8. As you can see by the scans at the left, we have replicated not only the stamps themselves but the watermarked paper upon which the stamps are printed! Each stamp is perforated, just like the original, for easy separation in case you want to remove a few to make your ration book look used at living history events. We will stamp your books with a unique number and validate it with an OPA-style rubber stamp. Books were filled out by the person receiving them, so just like the originals, all you have to do is to fill them out in your own handwriting (be sure to use a fountain pen or fine rollerball, not a ballpoint).
