40 pattern (utility) battle dress blouse, OR's. Hand made to measure tunic

Introduced June 1942
Made from khaki serge cloth with a khaki drill tan lining,
All buttons are exposed.
The two chest pockets are plain and do not have pleats.
There is only one inside pocket.
On the back of the waist band are two exposed button holes for fixing on to the back of the trousers.

37 pattern battle dress (BD's) blouse, Other Ranks (OR's)

Made from khaki serge cloth with a khaki drill tan lining,
All the buttons are concealed. It had two pleated chest pockets and two inner pockets.
There are three concealed button holes on the back waist band to fix the blouse onto the back of the trousers.

British army D-Day full assault jerkin used in the Normandy Landings

A replacement contender for 1937 webbing equipment, this garment was developed in 1942 by Colonel Rivers-Macpherson as a modern combat system. Originally issued and trialled in North Africa in the same year this garment was found to be of limited success as a result a modified version was issued to assault troops and commando forces of both Britain and Canada for the D-Day invasion.

Our reproduction is manufactured in chocolate brown as issued on D-Day with khaki back internal body, jacket pocket and large poachers pocket. it features custom machined toggles to match the originals with the correct thickness cord and internal stencilling. Our model is based on the ones issued circa D-Day.

D-Day assault jerkin

It was based on a poacher's jacket with loads of pockets all over it.
Made from dark brown 15oz cotton duck canvas with a khaki drill lining.
The jerkin is fastened by two webbing straps, one at chest height and the other at waist height.
All the pouches are fastened with whip cord and wooden toggles
On the front are two curved pouches to take either the Bren magazines, 2 inch mortars, Sten magazines, or cotton bandoleers for rifle ammunition
Just below the bottom left front pouch is a slit to take the 07 pattern SMLE bayonet.
On the front right hip is a piece of 2inch webbing sewn at an angle to fix the 37 pattern webbing pistol holster.
On the right hip is a bomb pouch for mills bombs.
On the left hip is a water bottle pouch, just on the front gusset of the water bottle pouch is a small sleeve to take the No. 4 Spike bayonet.
On the rear is a pouch to take the head of the en-trenching tool, also boot polish and other cleaning kit.
On the back is the large pouch, fixed on the right gusset of the large pouch is a small webbing strap at the top and on the bottom a small pocket, this was to hold the machete or the 2inch mortar.
On the left side gusset is a long sleeve to take the helve of the en-trenching tool.
On the shoulders are two whip cord loops for tying down additional cargo, one on each side.
Inside the jerkin is a large khaki drill pocket to hold 'soft kit', there is also an inside pocket on the right side.
